Alexandre Rotta, MD, FCCM is a Brazilian physician with a degree from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. He completed residency training in Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan and postgraduate fellowship training in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. He has lived in the USA for the past 30 years, where he is a Professor of Pediatrics at Duke University, and Chief of the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Duke University Medical Center/ Duke Children’s Hospital.
He is a member of the American College of Critical Care and Chair of the Pediatric Section of the Society of Critical Care Medicine. His academic interests include acute respiratory failure, advanced modalities of respiratory support, cardiac intensive care, bronchiolitis and critical asthma, and medical emergencies in commercial aviation.
